Different tribes will have different traditions. My exhusband is full Chippewa and he never did anything like that, nor had I seen it ever done at any of 'his' cultural events. I did notice he had an aversion to reindeer meat when he went to the Scandinavian festival with me, but that doesn't mean an Innuit would have the same dislike for the same tasty furbeasts! They are all pretty much different cultures, really.
