I play the original Eon version from a few decades ago. There have been three or four versions since then. If you do play this then what version do you play, Eon, Avalon Hill, Mayfair, or the new Version?

I liked the Mayfair version although I did make changes to some of the powers and took out some of the Edicts (Hand Zap?)
It's a great game. The original version with all the expansion sets is still the best.

Although the latest version by Avalon Hill/Hasbro has the most impressive components, I prefer the original Eon Games version.

Played the Eon one a very long time ago.

I do think Mayfair makes some nice games, but then I know a few folks there, so I am partial.

The last version that I played was the new version. Less options than the old EON but still a lot of fun. Still, I haven't played it in years. I've never owned a copy.

I own the mayfair version (and "More Cosmic Encounter" as well) although I've never played it. (One of about 500 games I own I keep meaning to get to "one of these days"). By the way who makes the new version?
