Hi there, hoping some folks who do a lot of sewing can help me out. My six year old son is a spider man fan. I have bought two spider man outifts (he tore up the first and outgrew it at the same time). The second one, the one he wears now has a hole and runs in it all up and down the knee to the crotch. I would like to repair it but have no idea how. Its the kind that does NOT have the muscle padding. I looked for a description tag for the fabric, but there isn't one. I did buy this new. The material is maybe some sort of spandex or stretchy material. I would like to repair instead of buying another one. If you have any thoughts, even on non-conventional sewing methods, I would love to hear them! I don't want him to have to wear it less---he loves it. I just want to keep up on the repairs. He has not had it for even a month!

Bless his li'l heart!

It sounds like the material is too cheap. If you sew it, it will just rip again along the seam. It's probably meant for a one-time wearing on Halloween or something. I would suggest looking for some spidey pajamas that are meant to be worn a lot. or making a costume from durable material. Your local fabric store will have a pattern.
