Well, no. Just because they're obese doesn't mean they eat anymore than some of their thinner counterparts. I've seen some smaller people go up 6 times or more, as well as seeing some obese people do the same. Maybe some of these restaurants should limit how many times a person goes up but then again, that would be kind of hard to monitor now wouldn't it?! That would be discrimination to make an obese person pay extra. Terrible question.

No because that would be very degrading. Imagine the embarrassment that people who are obese feel when they go out to eat anyway, with all the stares and people monitoring how many times they go up to the buffet, or people wondering why the are even at a buffet. I think it would be very mean to make these people pay more money just because they are overweight.

Absolutely not. There would be so many lawsuits it would not even be funny. It all evens out in the end anyway. People go to buffets who do not eat much and then other people go who eat a lot. If you want to be charged on the amount of food you eat, buy it by the pound to go.

Respectfully, the only difference bretween them and a svelte person is a little too much food. Would you want to be punished for being obese due to that OR because of a medical condition that you couldn't help ( some people have an underactive thyroid problem)?

In eating competitions, the obese are at a disadvantage. Slim people can eat more at one sitting. They should be charged more for packing it in at one time and the heavy folks should be given a break in price because of their on-going contribution to the dining industry!

Perhaps folks should just have to pay by the pound for what they put on their plates. That would make more sense. Of course it would defeat the purpose of "all you can eat" for one price... I have a tiny 9 year old boy with the metabolism of a gnat who can out eat my 285lb husband any day of the week and his meal is half-price. Go figure.

No because a lot of the thinner people just end up stuffing extra food intheir bags to take home. So they all consume the same.
