She can sue on a number of different things, based only on what I have read hear. Being also she would have to prove everything.

1.That her signature was forged, impersonation, by who signed it.
2. That here integrity was compromised, which caused loss of potential business, and wages.
3. And defamation of character.

If she was treated by a Doctor, that will state what the undue stress has caused, she could try to seek something along the lines of undue mental stress...

This all depends on the matters of the case, the merit, and the state in which you live. In most cases, the cost will not out weight the victory.

You can sue anyone. For pretty much anything. Will be a tough case though.

Sounds like you mom had a very stressful period of time, and a court case might add more stress.

She can sue for malicious prosecution of a lawsuit if the suit was really frivolous. She can go to the prosecutor and request charges be brought for the forgery. Both of those will be tough cases to win.

YOU BET SHE CAN! I'm not a lawyer, but i think these people can have criminal charges brought against them also; if they forged her signature, it's fraud. if i were the judge i would have referred the matter to the district attorneys office.

Maybe some lawyer or paralegal will post an answer to your question. Have you spoken to the legal aid society?
