Give it a try talk to the various institutions see what they have to say, a co-signer works wonders to build up credit.

That decision will rest with each individual rental company. Some have stiffer criteria than others do, and most of them change the criteria one way or the other, depending on how many vacant units they have. The more vacancies, the more probable looser credit criteria. If you can show evidence to the rental firm that your salary has more than doubled, perhaps they will take a chance with you anyway. All you can do is check around a bit.
