First, change the rules of engagement for our troops. Waiting until you are shot at is asinine, especially if the armed enemy in front of you is a good shot.

Expel all US civillians out of Iraq. That includes contractors, private security and journalists. The presence of these civillians is a greater burden for provideing them protection rather than accomplishing the objective, making the task even greater with the number of troops on the ground.

Make Medicare (You know, that medical insurance old people and disabled people get) available to the public at a reasonable premium. Private insurance companies could market Medicare Supplement Insurance, so they'd still have a product to sell. State aid to the indugent for medical care would be limited to the premiums that person would be charged if they were able to pay the premiums themselves.

Ask Congress to pass long term laws keeping the 'checks&balances' alive in U.S. for all future Presidents to follow.

Ask Congress to allocate funds to revamp the U.S.'s energy infrastructure.

Find a good looking intern or go for the twins ;)

- I would increase the amount of overseas aid to 0.7% of GDP in line with what we promised 50 years ago, and I would make it legally binding that the funds have to go via non-profit organisations and NGOs rather than through US companies as it does at the moment.
- I would sign the US up to the Kyoto treaty and legally bind the US into signing up to its sucessor
- I'd make it law that the US could only take or be involved in military action if it were sanctioned by the UN Security Council.

Then I'd go and eat ice cream (yes, I know its 4 things)

I get one week? I would find out the truth behind Area 51, black budget projects, world politics, etc. I would absorb as much information about the world as I could. There isn't jack that you could actually accomplish during a week. You might as well be an informed citizen.

I'd want to have a few beers with George and then play a good game of truth or dare. I'd have to make sure that was recorded.

Secondly, I'd have George's portrait redone to include the horns, goatee, and cloven feet that were omitted in the original painting.

And number three.....to make it short -total re-organization of the situation in Iraq.

Unlike Bush, I would have the wisdom and self-awareness to know that I lack the experience and knowledge necessary to effectively lead this country, so I wouldn't accept the position to begin with.
