How do you simplify this, to get an overall volume in terms of pi:

1/3π x 486 – 1/3π x 18

=> 1/3π x 486 – 1/3π x 18
= 1/3π x 18 (27 – 1)
= 6 π x * 26
= 156 π

You can write that as 1/3pi (486 - 18) = 468/3 pi = 156 pi
