Governor Jon Corzine of New Jersey, who was critically injured recently in an auto crash, is a case in point. According to reports, he was NOT wearing a seat belt and his vehicle was racing at 91 mph. Of course, he wasn't driving and his vehicle had its emergency lights flashing, which may have contributed to the crash. Can we assume that the governor either consented to or requested that rate of speed? And, if you're late for a meeting, can YOU speed down the road at 91 mph?

open4one, how did I imply that this state of affairs was anything new? I know about politicians during President George Washington's administration who were not all they should have been.

Obviously Corzine is an idiot, not for breaking the law, but for doing so without wearing his seatbelt. He is very lucky he didn't die.

Honestly I couldn't care less if he broke a law he had a part of creating. Remeber Mark Foley, chair of the congressional committee to prevent the explotation of children? Yeah; thought so.

You seem to think this is new. Didn't you hear about back in the 80's where every congressman in DC except one was bouncing checks on the House Bank?
