I believe it's okay, but then again, I'm a pro-porn, sex-positive, porn and erotica-consuming girl myself, so I might not reflect the majority of the conservative, traditional world.

There is nothing about porn that is inherently bad. People who usually make negative claims about it aren't necessarily wrong in their assessments; a lot of the time, they're right. In the majority of male-produced, male-oriented heterosexual porn, women are objectified, degraded, the beauty of sex is demeaned, and many times, porn stars are victims of pyschological problems, drug addiction, STD's, and other problems. I completely agree that the business is riddled with problems, both internally in what happens, and externally in how it shapes our view of sex and how to treat it and women, as a society.

But at the same time, none of those things are inherent in porn, and I say that because there is a small but growing niche of porn that is completely the opposite. There are porn stars who are happy and successful and have no problems with what they do. There are so many videos out there that have actually helped to save marriages and relationships (you never hear about that, though, do you?- it's always "his porn addiction ruined our marriage!") with educational instructions or just bringing couples closer together and opening up discussion on sex and their desires. There is porn that portrays real female sexuality and treats women as equal partners in a beautiful, sacred act. I just want to be able to hand out copies of any of Tony Comstock's documentary films (http://www.comstockfilms.com/ to anybody who says that porn is always degrading or disgusting or whatever, because his work is so amazingly sex-positive and beautiful- it is a complete antithesis to most of the stuff you see out there today.

In the end, I think porn is a great thing that can be used for good or for bad, but I'd never throw the baby out with the bathwater- rather, I'll keep buying the kind of porn that makes me happy, and hope that others see the goodness in it, too. And if they don't, hey, that's okay, too, because what you like to watch onscreen doesn't at all necessarily translate into what you do in your real life.

Hope that helps.

You know I think porn isn't necessary a bad thing but I like to think of it as bad and lately I cant really think of things like lust because I have other things to think about in my life. Oh and don't feel bad because everyone is doing the right thing if you think about it. Everyone has a different point of view and a different mindset so according to them they are always doing the right thing. I don't care about dehumanizing people though because I have a terrible conscience and that's not a bad thing at least I don't think it is.. Don't let people influence you that much because you are your own person and I believe that being as independent with your thoughts will make you a better person. Now this is all from my own experiences and I'm not sure if it was the answer you wanted but this is just my opinion.

How can you do a paper on something that has no clear definition?... I can not... but I know it when I see it.... just because it involves nudity in most cases dose not make it porn... I loosely define it as any thing that exploits or degrades any one for sexual gratification... or... blatant sexual exhibition before those not willingly participating... by any means of exibiting... or... any exhibition of the genitalia in a sexualy inticing manner.... or on and on and onandonandon... with endless personal definitions... if it offends someone then it is porn to that individual... a streaker at a football game would be pornographic as would be any depiction of the act... but somone walking nude in the woods would not be... in my opinion... so long as the actions of the individual were not blatently intended to draw attention to himself..or herself... as is the intent of the streaker..... however... doing "it"... in the woods or anywhere else where any one else can view ... that is just disgusting.

Pornography dehumanizes the individual as a sex object and degrades our humanity as a whole. The sexualization of the adult female form also contributes to the sexualization of the child female form. Except in the eyes of the mentally challenged and those who are addicted to pornography, the adult/child connection is obvious and egregious. Instead of encouraging this distortion of the life of a human being as primarily sexual for the gratification of the thoughtless, insensitive, and selfish, we should be working to eliminate this crime against our humanity.

Pornography is an addictive disease that permeates society and down-trods the nobility of men and women everywhere. The persons that participate in such wickedness do it for the money, not wanting to accept responsibility for spreading it more while ignoring the sacredness of our bodies and the sense of morality that ought to exist.

It generates more carnality in a society that needs to align itself with God.

Its Bad in general, because it creates a misconception of sexuality and sex and relationship dynamics. It is also bad if you are in a relationship, because you may expect some VERY unreal expectations. It is also bad, because it kills romance, sponteneity, and creates a reality out of a fantasy, so it kills fantasy, because fantasy can never be reality and it is NOT supposed to be. In a sense perverts reality...and honestly do you want everything that happens in your head to come to life?

I also think that some single, celibate people think that its good, because it helps them "relieve" built up tension...lol.

It's one of the most addicting things on earth. It teaches false ideas about love and sex. It plays large roles in creating child molesters and rapists.

I think it is one of the most dangerous things a person can put into his or her mind. It takes over thoughts and it diminishes young boys ability to think clearly and with respect towards girls.

Hope that helps. Have a good day! :)

Sue Johanson says that pornography is acceptable when viewed by adults. I personally think that it should be monitored because of all the child porn these days and all the sick bas*ards who watch it (pedophiles).

I personally don't watch it because I have kids in the house and I don't want to set that example for them if they ever found it.

I never really thought twice about it, until my boyfriend kept bugging me for anal because " the girls in the movies like it"

I have never been so PISSED in my life at him. I almost kicked his @ss to the curb for that one,

Ever since then, I hate pornography, I think it's ridiculous that a few wh0res can degrate the rest of womankind.

Although sometimes I think it tends to alter mens perception of women, I don't think it's wrong.
