On the last and greatest day of the FEAST Jesus stood up and cried out in a loud voice, "If anyone is THIRSTY come to me and drink" I am thirsty. Jesus claims that He alone is able to quench this thirst--to satisfy. Not just my need for love or acceptance but the sum total of my desires. I probably don't even know what they all are. My crazy and unexplanable need for beauty. An intense longing to be a part of that beauty and not just an outsider. My desire for adventure, my intense desire for truth, to know and be known, to love and be loved, to be accepted, to be worth something, etc. Whether or not all of the above desires are valid or not doesn't matter; the point is, I see that I have intense longings and Christ claims to be One who will satisfy my thirst in its entirety. So here's the decision. Do I accept what Christ, who is unseen, says or do I chase after things in the world that I can see? I know that the things that can be seen have let me down before and I can see the beauty of the Jesus of the Bible. His compassion and love are unmatched. His wisdom --unmatched. Then for Him to die, to Himself be thirsty on the cross, to forgive those who did this to Him, those who should have been in his place, and then to rise from the dead. To not believe Jesus seems utter foolishness to me. Even though it takes trust, even though I will die before His promise is completely fulfilled--I will die thirsting, and longing, and HOPEFUL and joyful-- the decision is made. I believe Christ when He claimed that He is the only way. I would die for it...for to die would be gain. What is your decision? Can Jesus be trusted?

First of all, GOD'S RESOURCES, whatever it is that I would have to offer, even if that meant MY LAST CUP OF WATER. It would be more important to me, as a Christian, to make sure that YOUR needs were met FIRST! Love COSTS us something! But it is ALWAYS worth it! Along those lines, I would take THE SHIRT OFF MY BACK in order to shield you from the hot sun! Better that I be sunburned than that you be sunBAKED!
Second, I would give you GOD'S COMFORT, in PRAYING for you! In doing so, I would ask the Lord to send you refreshing from His Holy Spirit! And also, to HEAL YOU of your severe dehydration and recover you from such a dire condition .
Third, I would give you GOD'S WORD, speaking to you from the scriptures in which we find peace, hope, strength, and encouragement, as well as wisdom and guidance. In doing so, I would help you see that the situation is NOT "hopeless"! And also, it would be a great reminder that GOD is in control!
And fourth, I would give you GOD'S SERVICE, by lifting you up and CARRYING YOU on my back! You would obviously be too tired and fatigued to even get up, much less MOVE on your own! Like the man in scripture known as the "good Samaritan, I would take you to the nearest Inn and make sure that you were WELL CARED FOR!
Lastly, I would give you GOD'S LOVE! How would I do that? Glad you asked! I would simply KISS YOU MOST PASSIONATELY! What has this to do with the question? Everything! You have obviously lost your way, and seeing that you would be SO LONELY, I know that you would need YOUR MAN to give you some good ol' "mouth to mouth" in order to AID YOU in your recovery! I would hold you close, and since we were at a nice Inn, I would just STAY THERE WITH YOU! And I'm absolutely certain that come the morning, dear lovely Lady of mine, you would indeed be FULLY RECOVERED, having had your INNER THIRST FOR LOVE quenched!!!
Soooo........Have a "drink of love".......ON ME! Love ya!

I wouldn't want to watch someone die if they actually in this particular circumstance. So, yes, I would get you a drink then I would help you get out of the desert.

if I saw you there, that would indicate I am there as well. and if you are dying of thirst already, wouldn't that mean that I am as well? I'd call on my cell phone to have a helicopter come pick us up and we could go to Arbys or something.

What would I GIVE you? Nothing. I would SELL you a glass of water for $1,000. You're in a desperate situation, it's all about supply and demand baby.
