I started my period on Friday April 6th and had unprotected sex (twice) very early in the morning on Saturday the 14th. I should have ovulated somewhere around the 17th-21st. Is there any possibility I could be pregnant? I don't know if it makes a difference but my partner is in his mid 30's and maybe his sperm aren't as healthy or motile as a younger man's?? I am at the prime age for pregnancy (young 20's) but I have had irregular cycles for the past 2 months and I don't know if I even ovulated this month or last month. Help!

You absolutely could be...Sperm will live inside the female body for about three days. 8 + 3 = 11, so you're right on the edge.

There is always a possibility of getting pregnant when having unprotected sex. If you ovulated closer to the 17th then there is a chance you may have gotten pregnant, but it will be a little while before you can take a HPT.Usually, if you have a 28 day cycle you would not ovulate until after the 14th day of your cycle, but some women ovulate sooner or later than "they should". I am in the same boat as you are, waiting to find out, and it's hell! Your partner's sperm should be ok, a males reproductive organs stay active longer than the females. Every site I find says something different about how long the sperm stay alive and how long it takes to implant, so who knows? I guess your body will just have to tell you. Good Luck and I hope you get the results you want!
