You are having a laugh, right ? How does ONE good performance ( they got hammered in every other match ), and in a one-day competition at that, justify in ANY way the granting of full Test status?????

I don't think that Ireland should be the Test status basing only on their performnance in the WC. Any how I think the ICC will scedule a decent number of ODI tournaments involving Ireland & other good cricketing teams which will help teams like Ireland, I mean a fresh or new teams in the big arena very much to play & prove thyem selves. And I hope this will help ICC to take crucial decisions on future of Cricket & cricketing teams around the world.

The ODI status given to Ireland is valid only upto 2009 Champions Trophy. Renewal of their ODI Status will depend upon their performance in the 2009 Champions Trophy. Their case for test status will be considered only after they get permanent ODI status.

no they should not be given test status for 2 reasons

1. they dont hav much irish players. they play with other player's countries.

2. they hav a very bad batting line up. they scored onlu 91 against australia and 77 against sri lanka.they will be crushed by the opposing team if they play tests

Bangladesh by beating pakistan once
