Well, you are entitled to our opinion, and so are the rest of us. I respect the position of the Presidency, if I were at the White House I would show Bush the respect due that office. But if he were to ask me how I felt about Iraq, I would tell him the truth, and he wouldn't like it. I don't respect Goerge Bush as a man or a President. He hasn't earned it, in fact he has earned my contempt for the mess he has created in Iraq. If there were something, anything to point to that was good about George Bush's Presidency I would acknowledge it. But I just can't find it.

Respect has to be earned and maintained... he (even though I am a Democrat) had my respect at first.. and I still like some of his stances (such as Illegal immigration.. he has a more realistic plan than most people.. but I like Obama's stance on this one also... just not sure it's as plausible). But he lost my respect.. mismanagement of the Iraq War, trying to sell our ports to Darfur, saying the Constitution is just "a piece of paper".. the list goes on... I still treat the office with respect by not calling him names.. but I also show respect for my Constitutional rights by letting it be known that I do not support him and stating my reasons for that.

Unfortunately, it is important in the eyes of the nation and the eyes of the world that the President of the U.S. appear to be Presidential. Bush is the least Presidential looking man to ever hold that office. Not only does he NOT appear Presidential, he is NOT Presidential.

the office of president commands respect but the man that holds that office must act responsibility to keep that respect. GWB has not.

i did respect him for a little while but not anymore. i do of course respect many past republican presidents so its not a matter of party. i just really have questions about GWB motives for some of his actions and it seems to me that he does not care about the constitution.

The current president has purposefully deceived us in order to involve us in an unending war. He has lowered environmental standards which protect all of us in order to increase profits for some of us. He doesn't deserve our respect. He deserves our spite.

This president is beyond contempt, and I agree whole heartedly with Citizen jane, among others. *sm*

I can't respect someone who does not respect me. It is a two-way street.

Respect is earned.
Bill lied to protect himself from embarrassment, a forgivable offense.
Bush lied for personal gain that caused Americans to die. An unforgivable offense.
Bush has not earned my respect.
