I would go for Adolf Hitler as his skewered beliefs bought (most) of mankind together and will probably avert there ever being a World War 3.

The biggest impact, would normally mean the worst impact, which would be Hitler. Who slaughtered millions of innocent people, caused the atomic bomb to drop, and almost conquered the whole world. He also invented interstates.

I have to say Jesus of Nazareth. His followers started a religious movement that spread quickly through the known world. Too many wars have been fought in his name. Early European explorers claimed lands for Church and King - the church is the Christian church.

The existence of Jesus did change the world. That argument can also be used for Hitler, Genghis Khan, Buddha, Mohammed (my second choice), Alexander the Great and good old Christopher Columbus.

Many people would argue Jesus as well because he "created" perhaps the most important religion in the world.

Someone already beat me to this answer, but I would say Aristotle, he set the example for man to use his brain to reason things out. My other answer would be Jesus Christ who taught us to love or brother as we love our self. If more people would believe and follow Christ example this world would be a much better place.
