I have very little and don't make that much but I'm happy

It all depends what countries you are talking about. We are better than the bottom of the barrel, third world countries, yet we are not better than some other countries who take much better care of their people. But I would say we are in the top 10.

And to answer your question better, we complain for the same reasons that a person with money wants to make more, a person with a fast car always wants to make it faster, and a pretty girl always wants to look prettier.

Simplistic answer, It is in our nature to always want better.

and there is nothing wrong with that.

The question is how can we care about other places when we live here? I suppose it would be easier if you had a loved on family or friend there. But without anyone you are even remotely attatched to there it is hard to care.

It could be that happiness is influenced heavily by genetics. So, it doesn't matter what you have or don't have; there is a level of predetermination.

Liberals are upset that you have stuff even thou you work, then you spoil your kids and they become liberals, finally liberals want everything for doing no work.

Is it a vicious cycle.

we are never happy,spoiled and self centered is what we are,everyone is guilty of this in one way or another.

no; in a general sense. people don't see these things happening; we take a lot of things for granted.

Swop places with our poorer cousins in Africa and then see how we get on,drought, famine disease etc.
