One, your laptop does not have a built in router, it has integrated wifi capabilities.

The reason this happens is because your new laptop is setup for ad-hoc mode and is looking for another computer to connect to. If you would eother set your new laptop up to connect with your old router or setup your old computer to only connect to infrastructer networks and not ad-hoc this will not happen again.

Check your wireless network connection's tcp/ip settings, if they are set, note the settings and set them to automatic. I was not aware that Sony made anything with an inbuilt router, I don't think anyone else does. If so there must be a way to turn it off. If Internet connection sharing is on, this acts as a router. Turn it off and try again.

If you don't need the built in router on the new puter, disable it, in My Network Connections.
