Why would Lakesha attempt a fantasia song?

I really like LaKesha, but she should have known better. I think that she lucky that no one was voted off last night.

Over the past several weeks, Lakesha has developed a very Diva type attitude. Remember when she totally blew off Diana Ross' advise a few weeks back just to sing a song that is well known to be Simon's favorite? Then her performance was weak and she had some unapproving feedback. Each week, watch her closely. She is really getting an ego and almost looks as though she thinks she wants to be elsewhere. For her to attempt a Fantasia song only proves that she is trying to show up Fantasia. She thinks her vocals are better when in reality, she does indeed appear to be almost shouting. She is losing fan base because of her attitude and nothing more. She is not even close to Fantasia on the talent meter and her attitude will surely get her booted off next week.

I agree with a lot of you that Lakisha has been waning of late. I remember Fantasia singing that song and she was wonderful, but Lakisha did make a poor song choice and has been making poor choices. She has a wonderful and beautiful voice, but the first note she sang last night was off and I even cringed at that. I don't understand why she thinks that these songs she's choosing are right for her. You know what guys, she may be losing sight of why she is there and maybe no longer wants to be there and that is showing in her choices and performances. What do you think about that?

IMHO, i think Lakisha sung that song way better than Fantasia ever did. People expect so much of kiki and really, she's still far above a couple of the others in the top 6, even when she's at her worst.

I used to like Lakeshia (how the heck does she spell that name anyway?) but she seems to be losing it lately. I agree with you she should have known better than to sing a Fantasia song. I think Lakeshia's days are numbered on Idol now and she will be voted off in the next week or two. She should stick to singing in her church choir.

She needs to really get it back together this next week or she may be one of the two to go. I think she has a beautiful voice but apparently she is still into choosing bad song. She's done it a lot lately which makes me think they can't ask for advice about it. Or she just is not smart enough to take it! I still think the three girls are far superior to the three boys.

I don't think Fantasia is that good anyway. So why shouldn't she have tried it? The contestants sing songs all the time from people they shouldn't attempt songs from.

I don't agree, I think that girl has a voice! I think she could probably carry off almost anything.

I did think it was really mean of Ryan to make Jordin cry like that so she almost couldn't carry her part in the Bono song.

I think Lakisha did a better job of the song.. she is easier to listen to then Fantasia... Fantasia's voice drives me crazy... she is the one that always sounds like she is shouting when she sings....

Well I had never heard the song by Fantasia (only started watching idol this year) and i think lakeshia did well....and it didn't sound all that bad personally.

I think that she is attempting to mimic Fantasia. Especially with the single parent thing. im tired of hearing about it.
