is it possible to trade between the games as long as what i trade to firered are the original 150 pokemon?...
and why does it keep on saying on emerald that "we're not ready to trade to far away region yet"?

In order for those games to trade between each other - Fire Red must have the Network Machine activated on One Island and Emerald must have the National Dex.
NOTE: For Emerald - all you have to do is beat the Elite 4 and you'll get the National Dex.

You have to beat the pokemon league in bothe versions before you can trade. then you can trade any pokemon you want not just the original 150.

Hey try to use a wireless adapter if you have one coz i was able to trade with the wireless adapter
