download and burn memtest, enter the bios and boot from CD.
Memtest will test to see whether or not anything is wrong with it.
Or, you could 'Right click on my computer > properties' and then see whether or not your new RAM has been installed

I assume you mean RAM memory?? If so, boot up your computer. As soon as it turns on it counts the memory installed. If the total matches, then it works.
I don't recommend checking the amount of RAM in 'My Computer'. Often times Windows will use a portion of your RAM for video memory and the total will not match.

On your desktop you should see an icon that is My Computer. Right click on that and then left click on Properties. You will see how much memory windows detects. If the amount is correct you are good to go.
