Australia has stood with us steadfast and tall in the war on terror .
And now, I'd like to thank them for something else .
Australia has refused the visa of Snoop Dogg. .. . they refused him because of his long criminal record . Now he can't co-host the Video awards . Not that I watch , but anything to get him off the air and stop him from polluting the minds of our youth !!

Thank you, Australia !!

Traveling in a fried-out combie
On a hippie trail, head full of zombie
I met a strange lady, she made me nervous
She took me in and gave me breakfast
And she said,

"Do you come from a land down under?
Where women glow and men plunder?
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover."

Buying bread from a man in Brussels
He was six foot four and full of muscles
I said, "Do you speak-a my language?"
He just smiled and gave me a vegemite sandwich
And he said,

"I come from a land down under
Where beer does flow and men chunder
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover."

Lying in a den in Bombay
With a slack jaw, and not much to say
I said to the man, "Are you trying to tempt me
Because I come from the land of plenty?"
And he said,

"Oh! Do you come from a land down under? (oh yeah yeah)
Where women glow and men plunder?
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover."

If you plan to travel around Australia there is a realisitic chance of seeing a spider. Most likely it will be something like a daddy long legs, a huntsman (scary looking) or a common house spider. These are all quite harmless however. It would be unlikely that you would encounter Sydney Funnel web (unless perhaps camping or staying extensively in the spring/summer in northern sydney/central coast) . It is quite possible you coud see the poisonous red-back spider. They are small with a painful (potentially deadly) bite. I live in an area where there a alot of these, and they are common and widely distributed across the country. Saying all this however, the risk associated with spiders is still low. Perhaps seek some help about managing these fears before you come. Australia is a beautiful country to visit and fear of spiders should not need hinder your trip

The current Australian Govt has taken a courageous stand on a number of issues. So are the Dutch. Unfortunately bad mouthing is easier to come by than duly earned praise. What about the Spanish that refused underweight models in their fashion shows? It takes balls to do that.

We, Americans, speaking only for myself, mind you, get so wrapped up in my own issues, I forget to thank those who have stood by us no matter what, sometimes. I apologize right this very moment, to the Australian People. You deserve Americas deepest love and respect. You all stood by us in Vietnam, and sacrificed yourselves, for friendship, faith, and love to USA, and her people, even when the crap was going down, there. Australians are an awesome people! Australia, and America are sister Nations, and Americans need to acknowledge, and respect you more. I am going to right now. You're the best, Sister! Thank you for your loyalty, and courage. Thank you, for the reminder, Earnest!

Believe it or not....Australia is a VERY good friend to the US!

We do a lot of trading with them that most do not know about.
We import most of their Tea Tree Oil!!
Love that stuff!! It's a great antiseptic and it GREAT in shampoo!

Thanks Australia....for standing with us...and some great products!!

I agree totally. Our Aussie friends and allies are the only nation on earth which has sent troops to fight alongside US troops in every conflict since 1900. Not even the Brits or the Canadians can say that.

To the boob who finds this question fascist, let me ask: how is it "fascist" to keep a person with a lengthy felony record out of the country? You have a warped sense of reality, and NO idea what fascism is.

You are correct. Thank you Australia. Now how can we keep Snoop Dog out of our country? Or at least keep him in jail.

To bad we can't refuse him re-entry to the USA for those same reasons. Good for Australia.

I think England should be the one thanking Australia.

Thank them for taking all of their inmates and dangerous criminals. It's no wonder Aussie's are a rowdy bunch!

I'm not exactly a Snoop fan. Seems that dude isn't allowed into quite a few countries these days.
