I have already lost most of my pregnancy weight, however, my feet still appear to remain the same width they became when I was pregnant. All the swelling has gone away too, but they still remain wide. This is so bothersome; I cannot fit into normal shoes. Any other women had this problem? Help!

I'm afraid you're just going to have to buy new shoes. My feet killed me after I had my 1st child and it was suggested that I have my feet measured. I discovered that I was trying to stuff my feet into pre-pregnancy shoes and it just wasn't going to work any more. I went from a 6 to 6 1/2 with my 1st and now I wear a size 7 after having my 2nd child. It apparently just goes with having kids. But hey its a good excuse to go shopping.

4 years later and I am still in the size I wore when I was pregnant. All my size 7 are now gone and replaced with an 8 wide!
I have several friends and all say the same thing. Their feet is the one thing that they can't get back to pre-pregnancy.

The water retention is probably hormonal. Give your body a chance to get back to normal. Having that extra padding between your organs was natures way of protecting you at the last months of pregnancy. At 3 to 4 months after your babys birth, you should be almost back to normal, except of course your milk producing area. Again, its natures way of taking care of your offspring. Since you are seeing your doctor anyway, mention the problem in your next visit.
Try putting your feet up more often.
As for all the answers saying womens feet increase in size automatically after giving birth, I dont think that is a universal law.

I went from a 6 1/2, 7 to a 7, 7 1/2. My feet got about half a size bigger. And, my youngest is 3 now. So, I don't think it will go away.
Same thing happened to my sister.

With all four of my pregnancies, my feet grew. i started at a size 8 and am now a size 10-11 for length. My youngest is 10, so I don't look forward to mine shrinking. I have not ever heard of them shrinking back to a smaller size. Sorry!
