LETS SEE.

I WAS ONCE WORKINGING IN A COMPANY WHEN I USED TO COME IN AT ABOUT 8 AM INSTEAD OF THE 7 O’CLOCK TIME I SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN. THEN ONE DAY, THINGS HAD GONE BAD IN THE FACTORY AND I COPPED IT THAT I SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON TIME AND I BETTER DID SO IN FUTURE, AFTER ALL I WAS IN CHARGE.

Now it might seem normal that I copped it. But lets look at the bigger picture. Sure my working time was the day shift from 7 am till 3 pm, but when you are managing a factory of three shifts 24 hours a day, and besides myself not a single person was licensed to operate the overhead crane required to be used to remove hoppers from machines and to deliver empty hoppers, I took it upon myself to start working at 8 am instead of 7 am as I was after all working till about 2 am the next morning without getting paid a cent overtime as in management you get none. In fact I was working 7 days a week as being in charge of three factories was not a minor feat.

So, when told of for coming too late, I decided I should start at 7 am, and did and left at 3 pm. Now, the next morning I arrived at 7 am and gee was there a commotion, as after I had left at 3 pm then entire factory had been forced to stop because no overhead crane to be operated and so no machines could be working. Those people who I was training to become crane operators could not operate the cranes without me being present.
So, the works manager called me in his office and demanded to know why I had left the factory in the way I did. I explained to him the situation and he quickly made clear that I could come whatever time I liked as after all I was in management and he admitted never having realized that I was working about 18 hours a day 7 days a week.

So, coming late does not necessarily mean it is bad, as I did so and the incident that had occurred was in fact for the better as it taught others in management that I was working far too many hours and so without any additional pay, and after all the staff I had left in charge should have been competent enough to have avoid the problem in the first place.

So if you are tardy at work being it coming late or late in doing things then look at it from the overall circumstances.

If the lateness is due to circumstances beyond your control, either often or sometimes then try to rearrange working times to avoid any problems.

Much depends on the kind of work you are doing if being tardy to work affects your performance and/or duties or that it makes really no difference in that regard.

While it might be argued for you to set your clock earlier, it might in fact not at all be the solution. After all, if you are getting late out of bed, regardless of your alarm clock going of in time, then you might have to consider your evening before as to perhaps change your lifestyle habits as to be able to be fresh and up in the morning when the alarm clock goes off.

As I no longer am employed in any company, I may go to bed anywhere between usually 1 am and 6 am and still could be up within a few hours. I might go to bed at 1 am and be up again at 3 am and then do not feel having to sleep and so back behind the computer. Likewise I may go to bed at 6 am and then wake up at 8 am and back behind the computer.
So, I am lucky in that sense that I can set my own times, and sure my wife complains about my odd hours but then again she knows that once I wake up I do not go back to sleep.

Another thing in my favour is that regardless if I have slept only 2 hours I am always cheery and joking and as such have no morning sickness.

If I were to go to bed earlier, say 10 pm then more then likely I be awake within a few hours and so why do that if I rather go to bed when I feel like it and have a quick power nap, so to say, and back writing books at the computer.

Perhaps, you might have to consider if your line of work allows you to work from home and then you might just work when you feel like it. That way, you might achieve a lot more.

Also, you might go to bed too early and having had a good sleep you then go into another sleep and then by this fail to wake up in time. As such, check out your routine.

Also, you might be up in time but waste too much time getting ready.
Lets see, my wife wants to go shopping and tells me I better stop working at the computer because she wants to go. She is very impatient and so I try to be ready within, say 10 minutes getting changed, etc. then I am there waiting, waiting, waiting, etc, and at times it can be two hours or more because my wife being ready and actually leaving are two totally different things.
And, when we finally do leave she complaints that we left too late to go to a certain place. So, she tries to make out I am the culprit.

It is therefore best for you to look at what you are doing, during the evening before, during the night and, also in the morning. Better would be to log it all in time and do your own time and motion study to see where things do go wrong.
The fact that you request us to assist you indicates to me you are not purposely late rather it just happens to occur time and again.
Perhaps the transport you take is a cause of it and you might have to modify this also.

Don’t start running part of the way and then being out of breath taking too much time to finish the journey, as you might do better not to run but have a brisk walk and get on time.

There are so many issues that could be related to your being late and so log it for a few days and see what you can discover.

Perhaps, on your day off, try to pretend to go to work and log the times you take, even if using a stopwatch, and then see what might be going wrong.
It might just be that you are not doing anything wrong but that the transport available, certainly if public transport, may make it about sheer impossible for you to be on time. If so, see what you can work out with your employer to have a different starting time.

Realize that you are purposely setting yourself up for disaster and ask yourself why you want to do this to yourself. You probably do this in other areas of your life too.
Set your clocks for 15-20 minutes faster than the real time. So you will feel like you are cutting it close out the door but still have some time. While this goes on, remind yourself, it is attitude and desire and the way you look at things that promote change or complacency. Good Luck!

If you keep being late you'll get fired that should probably break the habit of being late.

Wake up earlier, get out of the house earlier and make it happen. I hate getting up in the morning, but I commit to being to work on time, every day.

Change your clocks so that they are fast. For example if it's 8:00, your clocks would all say 8:15 or 8:20 - however many minutes you choose to set them ahead. I have trouble getting out of bed in the mornings so I set my clocks 17 minutes fast. It works for me because in my mind I'm already running late. It drives my husband nuts, but we're never late!

well for you to break that habit theres a range of options, 1 is to get a new job. or smile all the time, if you ever stop smiling then you have to do twice as much the next day.
