Please don't. It's so overdone now. My cousin, my husband's cousin, and a local newscaster ALL had baby Aidens in the SAME WEEK in March. I really don't want to have to keep track of Aiden R, Aidan C, Aiden A, and Aiden M, and Aidan S at birthday parties. So please stop having Aidens.

I bet that name is so popular because of Sex and the City. It was the name of a guy on it. More specifically, one of Carrie's boyfriends. Aiden is a good name, but it loses its appeal when you have heard it so much. Same goes for Hailey/Haley/Haylee. There are 2 Haileys in my family alone, and 3 other Haileys amongst the children of our friends. They all have to go by their first and middle name in school... Haley Marie, Haley Dawn, The Other Haley Marie, lol.

Sorry, not much can be done about what people name their babies. My new grandson, just 11 days old is named Aiden. I love him and his name no matter how many other Aidens there are. I don't know anyone with that name so maybe it is more popular in other areas than around here. There are always duplicate names, my 9 year old daughter is in a 4th grade class of 25 students. She has 3 Jacobs and 3 Sarahs in her class alone. Nothing can stop parents from naming their children what they like.

I like the name Aiden but I do agree it has been used too much. I have two boys, neither of their names are Aiden and now I am pregnant again with a girl.

Not a problem! I have 3 sons and none of them are named Aiden/Aidan. And there won't be any more babies for us. If there were, Aiden/Aiden wouldn't be on our list anyway because of it's popularity.

We are planning on naming our son Robert Aiden but its close. We are pregnant with a girl this time but my husband insists that we name our son Robert Aiden and we will call him aiden. But your right I know a lot of people who are naming their boys Aiden as well. And everyone having a girl is using Rose as the middle name...both are becoming overdone. We decided to go with something different, Madelyn Noel..havent heard that one yet...YET!

My neice was born in 1995 and is named Madison, and yikes, it is similar to the current crop of Aiden's. She has several McKenzie's and Michaela's in her class too so it is confusing!

I liked the name when it first came out, but I totally agree with you. It's being used so much now that I've begun to dislike it.
