For the first 7 years, the answer is no for subsidized housing. Similar to employers, after 7 years it will depend on the crime. If a person is convicted as a child molester, they will never be eligible for Section 8 or other subsidized.
However, during the first 7 years, subsidized housing will allow you to APPLY. The person most likely will be denied, but you are entitled to have the decision appealed. . Some property managers may reconsider if the person appeals the denial after they apply. Again, it could depend on what the person was convicted of.
This is discrimination, but it's legal. My husband has been convicted of a felony charge because of prior drug use and forgery. Even if a person pays their debt to society, do their time and straighten out; they still struggle for a long time after that.

I don't believe a conviction for forgery prevents you from living in a project.
Committing a felony while living in the project will get you evicted!
Best wishes.

I don't think forgery will have an effect on living in the projects. Drugs definitely will.

This being a class 4 felony may curtail entry into the projects for a while, but should not disallow you completely.

Call the Housing Project and ask them. You don't have to give your name. Just ask for GENERAL INFORMATION.
Most Housing Agencies do a background check. so don't lie on the application. But if you call to ask about the felong conviction first you will know whether to even bother.
