Hi!! Welcome to the club!!!

My favorite article on this subject is at:
http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/gl_diseases_pests_animals/article/0,,HGTV_3578_3910358,00.html
It tells you if you have moles or gophers, and how to get rid of them. It tells how to get rid of the grubs (which moles like to eat), and also about a Castor oil pellet you can use to get rid of moles, gophers and armadillos. They don't like the smell much!!
He even tells you how to "herd" them out of your yard. lol

Good luck!

Moles will stay in a lawn if they're getting plenty to eat, and they like to eat grubs. So to get rid of the moles, you'll want to get rid of the grubs.

Go to your local garden center and get some Milky Spore. This is a naturally occurring bacteria that will kill the grubs. It is harmless to your plants and pets. The only thing it will harm is the grubs. Spread the Milky Spore on your lawn per the directions on the package. It takes a little time to become fully effective, but then it will remain effective for up to 10 years.

Once the grubs are gone, the moles will move away to find a lawn that still has grubs.

Gum in mole holes will not work. That's an old wives' tale. And if you go around stuffing cat poop into holes in your lawn, the neighbors are going to start calling you a crazy cat lady!

I have included a couple of links for verification on ridding the moles in the yard. It's the only way that I know of .

Figure 4.
Moles can be discouraged from digging foraging tunnels in turf by controlling the populations of insects on which they feed. Elimination of white grubs, mole crickets, and other soil insects will make an area less attractive to moles. Identify the insect pests so the appropriate control method can be used. Ask your local county horticultural extension agent to recommend insecticides for your particular insect problem. Always follow label directions when using any pesticide.

Buy some mole traps and place them over the burrow marks. The only "true" way to rid the yard is to kill their food source which is Grubs. Not sure if the stuff that kills Grubs is harmful to pets but it should tell on the label. Good luck.

I know this sounds retarded, but I tried it and it works! I was told to put cat feces in the holes as soon as possible. They apparently can't stand the smell any more than we do. I makes them leave. (I knew my 2 cats were good for something :-)
