She is a good novelist because she makes you become deeply involved in the book. When you read her stories you can literary picture the scene, the people, the actions. She does this with out over doing the detail.

Regardless of what you think of Harry Potter, JK Rowling has persuaded more children to read than any other author in this century, probably more than any other author in history.

Yes, I've read her books. Yes I love them. I'm not quite as over the top as my kids are. Daughters 2 and 3 always preorder the books, go to the parties where they get their copies at midnight (dressed up as Potter characters) and win Potter trivia contests. Daughter #1 won a costume contest dressed as a house elf. I took an old sheet, made a giant pillowcase out of it and literally mopped the kitchen floor with it for that aged look. She won a sword of Gryfindor. (Yes, she was 18. It's a real sword!) They are voracious readers anyway, but they read the Potter books in one sitting. Yep, 12 hours or more, even taking the book to the toilet with them.

I am 47 years old and I'm dying to know what happens in the final book. Harry must live!

Who decides what is good? The readers. They have spoken.

I think that she was a very good novelist, but then she started to go downhill a little bit, which happens often.

I loved Prisoner of Azkaban, but I think each book has been significantly worse than the one before it once you get to book four. She seems to have latched onto the idea that killing a character automatically makes you a good writer, which is far from the truth.

But this is simply my opinion, many disagree with me. But I do think she's like a lot of famous novelists and filmmakers and would benefit from somebody else saying "Well, maybe this scene doesn't really go..."

I have only read one of her books but I think that anyone who gets kids interested in reading has to be a good novelist. She has kept the kids interested through many books. Whether she writes according to what adults think is a good literary style or not is quite beside the point to me.

I think she is one of the best at making a consistent fantasy world. She has thought it through to give life to characters who do human-like activities but with the twist of their unique skills and environment.

Many of the currently popular novelists have a twist to their stories but have flaws in their presentations that jerk you away from the story like hitting your toe on a raised part of the sidewalk. All of a sudden you are not flowing along but just stopping and saying that was so artificial that I don't care what happens next.

If I was making millions or even billions I think I could come up with something that good ~ even better. Yeah, I like her movies that are made from the stories. Never read the books, though

for me, in a way she is: a way that she specificities fictional characters, like Harry himself, exactly as readers would want them to look like and that's just one thing of many things JK Rowling is good at

she is a good novelist she lets the readers imagination roam and her idea of mixing the normal world of today with the magical world is worth a praise.
