That's HIGHLY excessive! If you're on a diet and want to see if you're losing weight, only weigh yourself once a week. Your weight fluctuates on a daily basis by as much as 5 pounds based on several factors such as, how much water you are retaining, your menstrual cycle, changes in lean body mass, etc. Weighing yourself twice a day or even daily would be completely redundant because when your weight goes up, you'll feel discouraged and think you've done something wrong when it's completely normal for your weight to fluctuate like that.
Don't forget that at least 60% of your total body mass is water, so it will obviously fluctuate! Weighing yourself once a week first thing in the morning will give you an accurate assessment of whether or not you're losing weight. Weighing yourself any more often than that will only sabotage your weight-loss efforts because the fluctuations might discourage you.

Not excessive as much as it is obsessive. Granted you aren't weighing yourself 5 and 6 times a day but it still shows an obsessive pattern. Your weight isn't going to change that much, if at all during the course of the day. You might find that if you have consumed large amounts of water (which is healthy for you anyways) you will gain a little water weight. But that can easily be burned off in a steam room, or a light 15-20 minute jog. Hope this helps. Don't stress over your weight too much though. In a few hours you aren't going to gain 50 lbs! never going to happen!

Yes. You should really only weigh yourself once a week. Your body weight will not change much within a 24 hour period. Twice a day is a bit obsessive.

Probably - although when I had anorexia I used to weigh myself four or five times a day!
Once a week (maybe twice) is best. Besides, the way your clothes fit is a better indicator of weight - especially as muscle weighs more than fat but takes up less room =)

You will probably disappoint yourself as your weight tends to increase as the day goes on. On the bright side, it appears to have gone down again the next morning, but it's really not.
Set a day to check your weight - first thing Monday morning, maybe. That will give you a truer measure.

Yes, It is best to weight yourself once a week, in the morning before eating or showering, but after urinating.
If you have changes in everyday weight it is most likely water weight.

i read in one of those magazines, shape or self or something, that the average person's weight varies 5-7 pounds a day. if you weigh yourself first thing in the morning naked after you go to the bathroom that is the best indicator. after that, it goes up when you get dressed, then when you eat or drink, and down after you go to the bathroom again.

YES! I notice you say at least, sweetie, you need to seek some help. I'm not just being a wisemouth. Ask a female teacher or counsler that you trust, to find you some good web sites or direct you to someone who can help.

i would think so, yes...i myself don`t even own a scale & i don`t care...i only know what i weigh when i visit the doctor...i`m not concerned with numbers, i go by how i feel & how my clothes fit...if i`m feeling a bit pudgy or my clothes begin to feel a bit snug, i just cut back on my food a bit, or increase my exercise...
