My boss usually never remembers me on Administrative Professionals Day (Secretary's Day) and I'm sick of it. He usually will ask me to lunch like several days later to make up for it... Yesterday, he said NOTHING again. If he asks me to lunch, should I say I'm BUSY and act pissed? Because I really am pissed....

I understand how you feel. I work in a law firm. There are two secretaries here and 6 lawyers. Not one of them said anything yesterday. Nothing. Today one of them mentioned taking us out to lunch one day, but not this week because everyone is way too busy. It is just rude. All that we do and no acknowledgement on "Administrative Professional Day).

I think you have a right to be pissed.....if he asks you just say well you forgot me on the actual day and I am too busy this week. He should feel bad, use guilt against him.

As long as I am not forgotten on payday it doesn't matter what day the boss takes me to lunch. Since lunch is not my favorite meal, I wish he would just give me the money he would spend on lunch and let me do with it what I please. But with so many other things on his mind, to be forgotton on a day that Hallmark or American Greetings probably made up to boost their sales is of little or no consequence to me.

BTW, a good Admin Asst. wouldn't let the boss forget.

He's probably busy and it doesn't fit into his schedule on that exact day. He should have at least ordered flowers or something. But hey, why turn down a free lunch if he offers in a couple days??

In your position, you are probably used to reminding Him/Her about appointments, scheduled events, etc. Often they will take their "help" for granted depending on you to make them aware of whatever is coming up on the calender. Don't be offended. He does try to make up it later, which shows that you are appreciated if only as an afterthought. Start an email reminder calendar, and in addition to other important dates include his anniversary, girlfriend/wife's birthday and those dates that are important to you.
