Teenagers need time to think alone and figure themselves out. They are growing into themselves.. Of course a porportion of that time is for "immoral" purposes. lol.. But everyone does it

Teenagers are at a critical developmental point in their lives.
They cannot be children any more, and they don't yet have it down what it means to be an adult. They are shedding their psychological skin. They need the privacy to think, cry, read, write, listen to music without interruption. Most of what they're doing is not immoral, only private.
Good luck

I don't think all the time they want to themselves is spend on immoral purposes. I think they need the time to think about everything from friends/family to world issues. I think they need time to dream of what their purpose in life is, what will they become, how can they change different things, why are things a certain way. Sometimes they make bad decisions, but they are still children and they need guidance, no matter how much they try to test you.

i ask for privacy because all my parents to do is invade it...i ask for privacy because sometimes i just want to be alone and its not for immoral purposes. I need to be alone because sometimes i have a bad day and i need to be alone and not around other people..on those days all i need is my iPod and a lock on my door so i can escape the world for an hour or two.

Define immoral and tell me you haven't done any of those things that you think other teenagers are doing.

Everyone needs time to be by themselves. Teenagers more so because they need to deal with all sorts of new things. What could they do alone, by the way, that's immoral? You can't rob a bank or kill someone because there would have to be someone else there. Oh, you must mean masturbate. That's not immoral it's normal. You're the one with a judgmental problem. Why don't you go into your room alone with the latest Playboy and have some fantasy time?

As humans hit puberty , the healthy ones do NOT want their parents observing ,
The incest implications are nasty to most .
HOWEVER >
Since the social / sexual activities come with huge dangers the teens are oblivious to , STDs & babies ,
( due to inexperience )
Parents must educate them about the hazards so they can make more intelligent decisions , which are Veryyyy difficult when the hormones are raging .

Well, we all know what the o.p. is doing when he wants privacy! Most teenagers are self conscious about the changes going on in their bodies. It is a natural step to desire privacy - moving towards independence.
