What motivates these people to lie, like they do?
Is it the thirst for power? Money? Both?
Why do they lie?
Why avoid the truth?
Would the truth jeopardize a power-grab? Would it cut into profits?

The practices of Enron paved the way for Bush and his friends to manipulate the books. Cook the books is a old form of fraud that is why this Administration is under 122 over-sight investigations with indictments being filed and convictions being made. Gonzales is finished like Scooter Libby and Karl Rove is to go before the Congress next week.

You obviously have a very limited exposure to the nature of government and what drives it. Classified information exists for reason beyon the average citizen's grasp of "WHY". As a fomer government employee i now live my life free of the restrictions imposed on me by man's laws. i now follow the dictates of a much greater authority, thereby placing me above the petty decisions of power-hungry and ego-driven maniacs. Let them continue and they will reap the rewards of their conduct.One day the poeple will once-again claim their country. If i am fortunate, i will have long pased on by then.

Ever wonder why the grave diggers were so busy in digging up graveyards when living human kind is not dead yet with everyone living in misery in own backyards in planet of apes?

Big business will do anything to keep their money and power.
They spend millions on politicians...giving them soft money so they can secure votes and/or policies.
The pharmaceutical companies routinely put medication on the market that kills us. FDA does nothing because they're also being paid off.
There's literally nothing big business wouldn't do to keep what they have and make more.
They'll kill, lie, and steal at a moment's notice.
