It was on yesterdays' news - they've just discovered a planet just like Earth except that the gravity is a bit stronger. It's only over a hundred trillion miles away, so there won't be a McD's or a Tescos there yet, so I should hang on for a while ! ! !

I will call it planet Bob... Yeah I know I am a geek, but couldn't resist the temptation on a movie reference.
(edit)... Yes *person with a period for a name*, don't forget your towel... Never leave home without your towel.
It is 1.5 times the Earth's radius, and I figured there would be a planet found eventually that is similar to Earth. As for life on it, it hasn't been verified whether there IS life, just that it is likely able to support life. That is what I meant to say from the get go... As for your second question you added. It is not likely to find two planets in the same solar system with intelligent life. There is still the question of water there which could lead to micro organisms, but I haven't heard enough on this lately to give you a current answer.

They have discovered a new planet about 20 light years away that looks similar to Earth and the temp. is about right to have water on the surface which means there is a possibility of life on the planet, it's 1 and half times bigger than Earth and will take us 687000 years to get there with today's spaceships, could become the next planet for humans to explore.!!!
Good Question.!!!

There is no evidence that this planet even has water, only speculation!!!
Once we finish with Earth or overcrowd it we will find a way to move on to our next host, we are merely parasites in the grand scale of the universe.
The new planet once colonized will be renamed by the corporation that funded the colonization.
Planet Starbucks
Exxon-Mobile Prime
McEarth
Microsoft Alpha
etc.
But first we will need WW3 to fund wide scale research for our next WMD and the only fuel known to man that can get us to this planet, anti-matter. Considering, of course, we find a way to mass produce anti-matter and we don't destroy ourselves in the process.

The new planet you are referring to is situated in the south of the constellation "Libra" its approximately 120 trillion years away it takes media information 20 years to reach such a distance one i dint think our generation is ever likely to see.
its reported to be 5 times bigger than earth so gravity for us would be an extreme constricting force to challenge.
its possible to contain life though not as we know it.
the likes of robust bacteria maybe resilient ants or other tough tiny insects.
for now its all in th imagination for it will all be realised one day.

It has NOT been proven to have life on this planet.
It is only theorized to have temperatures around our own, and a possiblity of water.
As far as trees and lakes.... no, there is no way to tell that right now, and I belive it is very disrespectful to ask a question with false pretences.

Wish fullfilment of the alien kind. Everybody wants to have a twin; this is mass demand transferred to scientific discovery. This was slated/fated to happen. And it has!

Sorry to say this but - another planet for us to destroy!!!
I'd love to live there but I'm just afraid once we get there - it will end up like Earth is now......................
For some reason; man can not survive without distruction.
