Limescale remover for the toilet has instructions which tell you not to use on stainless steel, but I did. Unfortunately, the sink is not mine! Please help if you can. Thanks.

you need to buy a stainless steel polish or an alloy cleaner. dont panic you wont have ruined it, you just need to get the residue off and shine the steel underneath.

get yourself down the supermarket, a big one, and look for the stainless steel stuff.

Try Barkeepers Friend. It is a stainless steel polish and cleaner. Available in many stores with the other cleaning products. Hopefully you haven't ruined the surface.
