Currently India are toying with the idea of 3 seperate coaches. That means the Head Coach/Manager like Shastri for Bangladesh tour will have to interact with the bowling n fielding coach. I am not so sure any of the high profile foreign coaches will accept that. So most probably India might go with an Indian coach/manager.
I think Tom Moody/John Wright/Dave Whatmore are in the running for the coaching position.
I would like Tom Moody to be the coach. Reason: the turnaround he has brought out in the SriLankans is there to see for all. Dave Whatmore is unprofessional as he was willing to break a contract with Bangladesh when Greg Chappell was being considered for the coaching position for India 2 years back. John Wright :had done his bit before ending his contract with India , dont think he has anything more to offer.

An Indian should be coach of team otherwise.. same thing will happen Australian Coach does not try to understand the way Indian play.. they will do the same thing what Greg did.
John Right was succesful because he understood the team and had Ganguli , a leader as Captain.
Jimmy Amranath should be given a chance.And moreover, we need a leader to be Captain not the best batsman as a Captain.

We already have a Bowling and fielding coach,so kind of need a cricketing manager rather then coach who can make decisions about team selections,match strategies,reading pitches and man management,i prefer a Indian at helm of affairs because of better communication,no media leakages and no big drama.We also don't need much hyped person who will only add to the confusion.My choice
1.Sandeep patil who has got enough coaching experience even at the international levels

BCCI have appointed a Committee to select the next Coach and they will select the coach in due course. So why we should break our head in the matter.

I think BCCI may give positive consideration , if Bennet King willing to take the job. BCCI looking such kind of stuff for Indian cricket.
