Are octopuses poisonous?

I have kept many octopi over the years including the highly venomous Blue Ring Octopus from Australia. These octopus are very gentle, however it takes only one bite.

The more common brown octopus commonly sold for aquariums are also mildly venomous, however a bite from them to a human would cause little injury, these also are rarely aggressive towards, humans (not so to your crabs and shrimps which would be slowly taken out by one).

Brown octopus does not do well in the often warmer home marine aquariums do to the fact that they prefer cooler waters (unlike the Blue Ring, which is Tropical). Octopus also does not handle nitrates over 20 ppm well at all in my experience.

Almost all Octopi have some small amount of venom,the Blue Ringed Octopus of the southern Pacific Tropics is fatally toxic,death of human sized animals taking only a few seconds. This animal is small enough to fit into a teacup and attractively colored people are often bitten while handling them.

Australia has a venomous occy. It's called the Blue Ringed Octopus, it's very small and has florescent blue spots/rings that flash when it is agitated. If it bites, it can be fatal.

also they havea beak like mouth that will really take a chunk out of your arm ouch
