Hi!!

I love wildflowers!! They are soooo easy to grow. Are you planting seeds, or do you get them from the wild? I get mine from the wild, so I know I'm in the right temperature zone. I try to mimic the conditions they grow in (what kind of soil, if it's moist or dry, and if it's shady, sunny, or a little of both.) They could survive on a balcony, but if your balcony is sunny, get the ones used to the sun (mints love the sun), or if it's shady, get the ones for shade.

With my wildflowers (I have them in a garden), I give them a little of the slow-release fertilizer. I only gave it to them once last year, they don't need much if you have them in their own invironment.

With watering...If it's been raining, I don't water, but if it's been dry (it's was REALLY dry last year in MO), I water them so they don't die. Again, if you get them from a moist place in the woods, they will want at least partial shade and to be moist.

Yes, bugs like them, just like anything else. There are so many different bugs!! However, many plants repel lots of different kinds of bugs. I plant mint plants and onions and garlic in among my other plants because many bugs don't like them. (Besides, the mints make good tea!!)

There are so many variables, because there are so many plants and bugs and diseases, etc. (Most wildflowers are really hardy, tho'.) A good place to go is:

From there, go to the gardening section. I have learned soooo much there!!! They have information on just about anything you would want to know!!!

Good luck, and have fun!!!

The care depends on where you live.
I suppose you can plant wildflowers in pots .
I looked it up and yes you can. The link below gives directions for planting and care and a list of plants for pots.
I'm just not sure if it's for all areas or just some.

It really depends on where you live and what are considered "native" plants in your area!
