It makes no difference. My first job was in the movie theater. I would be bursting inside with snide remarks I could not deliver to the customer. "I'll have a large popcorn, extra butter, Twizlers, Raisinettes, Snow Caps and an Extra Large Diet Whatever." Yes....of course you will, but that drink won't negate any calories. Just once I would have loved to say it.

I've noticed this too! It's like when you're at the movies and the person on front of you orders the "barrell" of popcorn, a bag Reese's Pieces, nachos, some Snow Caps, and to top it all off..... a Diet Coke. WHAT?!? WHY? I've never gotten it either.

actually I have heard that diet soda makes you gain weight too. But yeah I have noticed that...The larger people order diet sodas usually and the smaller people drink regular soda. If people could just realize everything in moderation... There would be no dieting and their weight would go to their healthy range.

Yes...I look at it like this: IF you order a regular soda, then it's that much more calories you've added, but if it's diet then you are adding less calories on.

My mother always ordered diet soda because of her diabetes, and I was always like "Mom.. there's sugar in ALL THAT"

it's true!
many years ago i once watched a hugely obese woman order waffles with whipped creme and strawberries...
danish..two scrambled eggs..bacon..and home fries...
and coffee...
the waitress brought all of it.
this woman screamed at the waitress ..you forgot to bring sweet n low for the coffee!
( i still laugh at the image of that!)
