Running windows XP; I keep my music on an external hard drive. Since I bought the hard drive, it has been recognized as "E" when I view "my computer". Now it shows as "F" and the program cannot find the music files. All of them have "E" attached. How do I get this back so I don't have to re-import 260 CD's? Any help is appreciated. And no, I am not using a different USB port. This just happend.

Have you tried changing the Drive Letter assignment in in the Disk Management properties window? The path is: Start/Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Computer Management/Disk Management.

The first rule of tech support is... "They ain't telling you something!". So, what changed? Did you add anything like say another optical drive (CDRW, DVDRW, etc...). Hard drives get assigned drive letters first, followed by fixed optical, and then removable USB devices.

Take a look at system properties and see what is now taking drive letter E:. Remove it, reassign it, or deal with it.
