typing error.
realized is the American way of writing it.
realised is the British way of writing it.
The tongue is the organ in our body that shows what we are inside... second to the face and eyes... what we say reflects who we are... remember... being quiet doesn't mean stupidity... it is just that some people prefer to keep their comments and interpretations to themselves...
There is an old saying by Buddha, "Our words should be carefully chosen for people will hear them and be influenced by them for good or for ill."
There is an old saying, "Those who speak too much are people who do not listen much."
There is another one, “A wise old owl sat on an oak; The more he saw the less he spoke; The less he spoke the more he heard; Why aren't we like that wise old bird?”
and, “Listening is a magnetic and strange thing, a creative force. The friends who listen to us are the ones we move toward. When we are listened to, it creates us, makes us unfold and expand.”
and by Ernest Hemingway, “I like to listen. I have learned a great deal from listening carefully. Most people never listen.”
and by Winnie the Pooh, “Don't underestimate the value of Doing Nothing, of just going along, listening to all the things you can't hear, and not bothering.”
and by Welter Lippmann, "While the right to talk may be the beginning of freedom, the necessity of listening is what makes the right important"
and by Lao Tzu, "Silence is a source of great strength."
and by Oliver Wendell Holmes, "It is the province of knowledge to speak. And it is the privilege of wisdom to listen."
and a Cuban Proverb, "Listening looks easy, but it's not simple. Every head is a world."
finally by Carl Rogers, "Man's inability to communicate is a result of his failure to listen effectively."
So once you see someone silent, it does not mean they are stupid... maybe you are not just as wise as the ones I mentioned here... yet... ;-)

Quiet people are not stupid. Actually, they are alot smarter than you think. A quiet person will sit and listen to everybody and watch their actions and surroundings. They pick up on things that others miss. They are smart to sit quietly and see how everyone reacts to certain topics. They are learning a lot about those around them. Being quiet has nothing to do with how smart someone is.

Im an introvert with a degree. I have found that quiet people make others nervous as they are watchful and reading their environment.Ever heard of the Wise Owl?

Not true at all! I have always heard it said:
"It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt!"
I actually think that's pretty smart. Don't you?
