there are NO proved theories which can explain how was this universe before big bang. However according to M theory, parallel universes exist confined withing vibrating membranes. And when membranes collide with each other the matter is scattered which we call as big bang. However this theory is not completely proved.
Now there is no definitive theory which can explain how long this universe will expand. some time later the universe may collapse due to gravity.....

The universe is a finite entity,it had a beginning and it will end.
Before the universe came into existence, there was a potential and the potential had to be finite,it resulted in a single space-time pulse of minimum duration.
The pulse continued and resulted in the universe we experience to-day.
The universe has a maximum size,a radius of about six or seven billion light tears.
It can be much older but there is no way of estimating.
The beginning may have already stopped.
The expansion has stopped now.
The farthest galaxies do not exist any more. The red shift is believed to indicate a universe is in a state of accelerated expansion.
For the universe to be finite it must stop expanding.
Galaxies are the end stage of an evolving universe which could explain the red shift which would be detected no matter what direction the galaxy was viewed from.
All in all the universe will eventually go out of existence.

First, the age of the universe is about 13.7 billion years. The earth is only about 5 billion.
As far as we can tell right now, the expansion will not stop. In fact, it seems to be accelerating.
It is quite likely that there is no 'before the Big Bang'. The problem is that the word 'before' implies a time and time is part of the universe and began with the universe. Asking what is before the Big Bang is somewhat like asking what is north of the north pole. That coordinate just doesn't go there.

BB theory is approximately expertise the form of the universe over the years, somewhat the enlargement of area. It starts off as a procedures back by way of fact the present theory of the day can bypass. The sort is that the universe started out increasing the on the spot it existed. at the instant we are at some tiny fraction of a 2d after the theoretical time 0. So at this ingredient the universe is all somewhat heat and dense. Time 0, the ingredient at which each little thing looks to wind up interior a similar place continues to be previous our arithmetic and physics.

They say that all the things before the Universe was concentrated in a little dot with a mega-power energy. But, what about the space outside the dot? Wasn't´t it a Universe?
From here to billions and billions of years, the Universe will decelerate and its expansion will stop. Then all the space bodies will return to that same "dot", where all the energy will be again concentrated. Let´s face the things, boys: it´s hard to believe in this "scientific" probability.

The term "before the big bang" has no meaning. All of space, matter (and, therefore, time) waas condensed to a single point called the singularity. Nothing happened during this because there was no space for it to happen in, and all matter was it one point.
Events that occured before a singularity (like a collapsing universe) are undocumentable and inconsequential to our current existance.
As to whether the universe will stop expanding and collapse, it all depends on how much dark matter there is. It is believed there is much more dark matter than ordinary matter. It there is sufficient, than gravitational attraction will overcome expansion and expansion will slow, stop and reverse. The evidence for this is inconclusive.

It's over 12 billion years old and we're working on figuring out how it began. According to present measurements, the expansion will never stop.

there was no universe before the big bang (i think)
and the most popular belief is that the universe will never stop expanding.... though i cant help but wonder what it is expanding into... there has to be something beyond periphery of our universe, though it is believed the universe is infinite in size....
