Look for new businesses being built, you can go down and offer your services for construction cleanup, and/or offer your services for their daily and weekly cleaning maintenance to their building. You can send out fliers too. Try convenience stores, urgent care centers, banks, offices, etc... Some businesses that are in the janitorial cleaning business, sometimes may want to drop a few of their clients, due to being so busy, or perhaps their selling, and they can sell you their contracts.

This is a difficult question to answer. Do you and your mom attend a church, even occasionally? Are there any non profit, charitable organizations that you or your mother feel strongly about? Even if you are too busy to attend all of their functions, your mother could be your advocate. My thought is that we get what we give, and often ten fold! The principle does not need to be understood to work, just work with the principle. You may even convince your employees of the benefits, but be prepared to foot the initial investment. Cast your bread on the water, it comes back. NOTE, getting involved may not involve cleaning the church, or an organization's office, just get involved.

Fliers...go to schools, offices, ask them (or call them) if they need this service.

It's all about getting your business noticed...bombard the area (laundromats, grocery stores, etc) with tear off fliers and let calls come in.

Be very specific about what you can do and have a good "industry standard" of fees so you can negotiate to where it might beat some of your competitors but not kill you.
