Tell them you want to help them and will send them a check. When they give you a PO box, send them the amount they want in monopoly money, or the fake stuff you get at the dollar stores. Then write a note saying that you have a spy at the post office right now and that you now know who they are. And to get out of this business.

I work for a credit union and I get to see these email all the time. What surprises me is that people really fall for this crap. Also they dial random number in a phone book and tell you they are from MasterCard and people just willing hand over there information. Everyone is complaining about identity theft and I see people leaving there pay stubs out on the counter for anyone to pick up.

In the last five months I have received maybe three of these emails a month. The last couple of ones that I have received is telling me that I won a lottery in another country and my email address was linked to this number and if I reply to their email with certain information than I will get so much money.

It is amazing the number of people that fall for them; you see questions in this forum all the time from people who have been the victim of lesser scams.
The preacher's wife that killer her husband and was only convicted of manslaughter, was caught up in one of these schemes and the bank was closing on her right about the time she decided to blow hubby away for being abusive.

I've had that too. The last one was from some woman who said she was jewish and needed to put her money into my account because her husband had died and now they were after her. She said she had about 20 million and I could have 10%. She had faxed me this request.

Same letters
different people
always find someone in the USA to give money to
yet never someone local
you would always wind up sending them money
and get zero in return

Simply in the whole thing he'll need some bank data, and there you have a scam. Don't worry, that kind of email is quite common :D
