I like Nora Roberts' "alter ego", J D Robb. Roberts, using the Robb name, writes the "In Death" series about a homicide detective in circa 2050 New York. Eve has a gorgeous husband who manages to get involved in her cases.
Christine Feehan has several series out. If you don't like vampires, check out her Drake sisters books.
Katie MacAlister's books are light-hearted and fun.
Sherrilyn Kenyon who also writes as Kinley MacGregor has a wide range of books and series out there.
A lot depends on what type of romance novel you enjoy. Happy reading.
