Virtual Villagers 1 n 2 : Awesome for small strategies.
I don't think this one wud qualify as a strategy one, but boy it does require strategy

Have you played Starcraft? A true real-time strategy classic. There's also the Romance of the Three Kingdoms series on the PS2. For turn based strategy my all time favorite is Final Fantasy Tactics. It is an amazing game! FFTAdvance is out for the DS and is a completely different game that you can carry around! These are all favorites of mine. . . Disgaea for the PS2 was a big cult hit, if you can find it used, give it a try. It can suck up hundreds of hours.

I like the game risk. I also like Diablo. Lots of stragedy in these games.
