Any time you have sexual intercourse, it is possible to get pregnant, even while using birth control. Only abstinence is 100% effective at preventing pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. Our children were 17, 15, and 12 when we found out I was pregnant despite being successfully on birth control pills (Ortho Tri Cyclen) for 11 years. Because of my age (38), had been taking other medications (high blood pressure meds and migraine headache meds), and developed Gestational Diabetes, I ended up seeing quite the array of doctors and nurses all of whom were at a loss as to how I could have gotten pregnant after so many years on the Pill. There are things that hinder the effectiveness of birth control pills such as not taking them regularly (after all those years, I took them like clockwork), taking antibiotics, and being ill with vomiting and diarrhea. I had not had any of those things around the time I conceived, so I like to just think that our little surprise was meant to be. I don't think that taking birth control pills at the time of conception will have anything to do with when you test positive. If anything, I might think you would test positive later since you will have other types of hormones in your system from the Pill. I didn't find out I was pregnant until I was already 17 weeks.

There is strong evidence that the Pill does not always prevent ovulation. This means that break-through ovulation occurs. For people that are on the combination pills, the rate of break-through ovulation ranges from 1.7% to 28.6% per cycle. For people that are on progesterone only pills, break through ovulation occurs from 33% to 65% of the time. "Breakthrough ovulation happens even among those who never miss a pill."
The Pill's first and primary mechanism is to inhibit ovulation. This is what most Birth Control companies say that their pill does, without mentioning the other "backup" mechanisms. The second mechanism is the thickening of the cervical mucus which makes it more difficult for sperm to travel to the egg. The third mechanism is where ethical decisions must take place. This mechanism thins and shrivels the lining of the uterus to the point that it is unable or less able to facilitate the implantation of the newly-fertilized egg. Since life begins at conception, this third mechanism is an abortifacient.

Anything is possible. But I never got pregnant on birth control. Only when I stopped taking it. It would not cause you to test positive any earlier.

Yes, it's possible. I've heard of it rarely with regular pills, but I've heard of a few more on the low estrogen kind. They typically put you on the low kind (mini pill) while you are nursing and I have known several to get pregnant on those. You have to take those like clockwork, like within 3 hours at the same time every day.
You won't test any differently if you are on the pill. You test after you miss your period like normal.
Don't let anyone tell you you can't get pregnant while nursing. It's a myth. I've known people to get pregnant then, too.
Abstinence is the only way.

you sure can!
I have a friend with 3 kids who were all conceived while she was on the pill. It isn't a 100% reliable method. 90% to 97% at best - depending upon the woman.
Because pregnancy tests are looking for the presence of human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) in the bloodstream/urine to indicate pregnancy, the levels won't show up any earlier if you had used birth control.

Yes its possible but highly unlikely! Unless you missed a pill, or you are on other medications that could mess with the pill. I was on the pill 6 years and had sex all the time with no condoms and i never got pregnant! But my lil sister missed a pill and she got pregnant on the BCP! She tested the day after her period was supposed to show up but didn't! So just wait till your day your period is due if you want to test!

LoL - I wouldn't be here if it weren't possible! I don't know about how early it would show on a test but I wouldn't think it would make a big difference.
The only fail safe method is abstinence!
