My turtle kinda attacked it...I took it out and now it is safe in it's own home...but it has only a bit of a tail...it doesn't swim and i'm worried about it. It seems alright otherwise. What should I do?

There really isn't anything you can do or than what you have already done. If it's only fin material that's missing, it will grow back in time. If the turtle damaged the flesh at the end of the fish as well, then it probably won't regrow completely. Watch carefully for fungus or tail rot as those opften attack damaged areas.

Just keep his water clean and feed him well, that's really all you can do to help support the tail regrowth.

Goldfish are bullies, in a tiny a million gallon this is barely going to be amplified! Goldfish want extra like 20 gallons each and each in an perfect international, a a million gallon i would not even keep a shrimp in. The broken tail will basically improve back if that is unfastened from an infection and the water high quality is stored immaculate (ideally totally filtered with universal water differences) the addition of anti-bacterial medicine ought to keep the tail from turning out to be contaminated. you're able to desire to strengthen your fish's living circumstances completely.

You already did the best thing you could have done for your goldfish--you removed the turtle.

Your goldfish should be fine and the tail will grow back in time. However, her balance will be off and that is probably why she isn't moving around as much. If she has other tank mates, just keep an eye on them because they sense when other fish are stressed and sometimes prey upon them. So, keep an eye out for other tail nibblers and remove them from the tank if you see any problems.

I had an algae eater who ate part of my fancy goldfish's tail--she didn't swim around as much and her balance was off, but within a few months her tail grew back and she was fine. Of course, I immediately moved the algae eater to a different tank.
