This is a question for the guys: Do you prefer a girl younger or older than you? Why?

I have had girlfriends younger, slightly older and the same age as myself.

I have been in relationships of a few months as well as 1, 2, and 4 years in duration (not in that order). I haven't consciously gone for girls who were a particular age although I have generally gone out with girls slightly younger than myself.

The older I became, the more focussed I was on personality (as well as looks) even in the first instance. Don't get me wrong, I think physical attraction has always been the initial thing, but when I was younger if someone was really cute (but still in my league) I would have fancied them. Some guys seem to go for girls much younger than themselves when they find themselves single in middle or later life.

For me, girls much younger or older than myself might not be as compatible as someone of similar age. The age divide means you have slightly different cultural symbols and social outlook (having brought up in different times). So for my own tastes I recommend someone of a similar age.

My wife is three years younger than me and we met and flirted at the first year of uni - some 4 years before we got together. There was initial attraction, but that grew over time as we got to know each other and remained friends while seeing other people. We are more compatible still now we are both over 30 and have similar desires from life.

I don't think a small age difference has any importance once you are older than say 20. I think a large age difference will bring unique problems to be solved at any age and in most situations.

Overall I think most men go for a girl slightly younger than themselves - which is strange seeing as we also die younger than women!

Older women are better by a long way. Younger women have issues, they concern themselves with matters that long since drifted into irrelevance for me.

oh give me the older woman every time, wether pretty, smashing, stunning, or down right ugly, i wouldnt have the patience to show the younger woman the ropes anymore, its like breaking in a horse, or new car, so my answer is the older woman.
