He's a hall of fame player, a hall of shame coach. He's always been way over rated when he coached the Bears. If he was a good coach he would have won more than one SB with the team he inherited. I knew when he went to the Saints he would destroy them. I couldn't believe he would trade all the picks for one guy. One guy doesn't build a team. What a moron! I can't believe the Saints bounced back as quick as they did once they got an actual football mind in there.

I think he should enter the Hall of Fame. He crafted the greatest Bears team in history in 1985. He got the Bears 6 titles and 3 runs in the Championship. He is also one of only 2 people to win a Super Bowl as a player, coach and assistant coach. Ditka was a stellar athlete both in college and pro years, so that alone should land him a seat.

The only thing I don't like about Ditka is I saw an interview with him sometime in the last year where he talked about encouraging players to take someone's knees out.

Ditka is an overrated idiot. He took the coaching job with the Saints under the pretense that he would have control of personnel. He gave away our whole team for a pot headed piece of sh!t and set us back 5 years. If Ditka was so great you would think he would have at least been offered another head coaching job, but the fact is he is a washed up has-been who won games inspite of his coaching ability.

I would put him in the hall of fame for some reasons and in the other dept. for others. Like any dictator, he took a country suffering through times of trial and tribulations, and improved social status, and greatly changed the course of the next thousand(s) (of) years. Of course he was great, for the edifices he built, and the set of laws he established for future generations, but like all great men in the eyes of some, that doesn´t make up for the atrocities he committed , more or less like the ones that were committed on him and (if I remember correctly, I was 7 when I heard about the Ides of March) ¿ét tú Brutu? was when he got continually stabbed by the penknives of his closest friends in some old Roman courtyard. Maybe that happened for a reason. However you want to interpret that, it applies to other GREATS of society too. Hope I could´ve helped and have a nice day (night for me.)

Gasp!!! How dare you utter such nonsense? Ditka led my Bears to the Super Bowl ! He's a human being, & like all human beings he makes mistakes. Would you like every mistake you've ever made to be held against you???

Was he the GM of the Saints? If so that clearly explains why he is in the HOF as a Coach for the Bears and NOT as a GM.
