I have tried so many things and nothing seems to get mold/mildew black stains out. Also it doesn't take long for pinkinsh mildew stuff to appear on the grout. Nothing seems to get either one of these out very good. Any suggestions?

Make a paste of baking soda and chlorine bleach. Apply to grout. Let dry and then rinse. Do this in a well ventilated area. Be sure not to get any on carpets or fabrics.

when the mold and mildew has infiltrated to that level, any type of bleach product can kill it when applied directly to the grouted surface. I have used the clorox bleach cleanser and simply run a bead of the gel onto all the grout and let it sit before scrubbing and rinsing. Use and old toothbrush to scrub the joints.

However, having said that, the grout will be weakened by continued exposure to the bleach so eventually you will need to have someone remove all of the grouting and start with a fresh batch after thoroughly cleaning out the channels with a stiff brush.

also, if your bathroom has no exhaust fan that can take the warm, moist air from the room as you shower, it simply is creating a delightful host environment to grow mold.

While the prospect of regrouting a bath is a full weekend job that won't be set for use until a couple of days have passed, it will prevent the mold from coming back...at least for a while.

Good luck!

Put bleach on it for a while. You can either wipe it off after 10-15 min, or let it evaporate. Totally kills the mold and mildew spores for a long time. Also way cheaper than most cleansers.

I use a steam cleaner and it works great!
It is environmentally friendly because it only uses water.

Go to Ebay and type in Steam Cleaner
