That sucks! We do our time cards on line. Whenever my insomniac manager sends out an e-mail at 2AM and my pager goes off, or I get called by mistake for after hours support, I charge them for interrupted sleep. Of course when it's a real call-out I get a minimum of 3 hours pay at time and a half or double on weekends. Gotta take the bad with the good.

This morning I had insomnia anyway...but seriously, is it in your job description to be on call 24 hours a day? Do you get extra pay for that or do they pay for your phone? If not, then take it off the hook! Or is this a trick question and you actually need a wake up call at that time because you work an early shift?

My husband's boss has called us that early before. Because PETA kids broke in and tried to let all the animals go. Seriously..

My husband usually gets up about 3 or 4 anyway because he has a pretty long commute to work and he has to be there at six, though, so it wasn't really that bad.

Been there & done that. I was on call and I had to rush to the hospital, at all hours. I've had a call that was a wrong number at that hour! Now that was enough to almost make me cuss! If you knew me you would know that I do not cuss.

I wouldn't...7:00 am was early enough for me! I would turn my phone off until I woke up unless it's a 24/7 type of job!

Depend where you're calling from, some parts of the world would call me at 2am, but it would be 5.30 here - time to hit the pub. Then you'd feel rubbish.
